Chris Elam and Misnomer Dance Theater have taught classes, performed, choreographed on students, and given lecture-demonstrations through residencies at dozens of universities.

Elam is guided by an artistic philosophy that every individual is a powerful creative source. By coaching performance skills, choreography, improvisation, contact climbing, and partnering, Elam imparts skills and perspectives that encourage students to be inventive in the creation and execution of their own movement and choreography.
